Brian Juan, MD, FAAFP
Founder, Metronome Family Medicine
Dr. Brian Juan founded Metronome Family Medicine for patients who want something increasingly rare in modern healthcare: a physician who has the time to listen carefully, think clearly, and oversee the full picture of their health.
Training & Experience
Dr. Juan trained at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and completed residency at Southern Colorado Family Medicine. He has spent nearly a decade practicing outpatient family medicine along Colorado's Front Range.
His background includes a leadership role as Department Technical Lead in Medical Informatics at Kaiser Permanente, giving him firsthand experience with how large healthcare systems actually run — and where they fall short for patients. He continues to serve as Clinical Liaison for Family Medicine in the Longitudinal Integrated Curriculum at the University of Colorado School of Medicine — mentoring medical students directly, and recruiting and occasionally coaching the volunteer physician preceptors who help teach them, through one of the country's most rigorous training models. His teaching was recognized with the Golden Stethoscope Award for Excellence in Clinical Education.
He believes medicine works best when physician and patient have the time and continuity to make thoughtful decisions together.
Clinical Focus
Dr. Juan provides comprehensive family medicine with particular interest in the following areas.
Metabolic & Cardiometabolic Health
Hormone Physiology & Midlife Transitions
Longevity & Functional Healthspan
Coordinated, Relationship-Based Primary Care
Many patients seek his guidance during midlife metabolic and hormonal transitions, where thoughtful primary care oversight can make a meaningful difference.
Like many of his patients, Dr. Juan has become increasingly interested in the questions that emerge during midlife — how to preserve strength, metabolic health, and resilience as the body evolves over time.
Rhythm Matters. Timing Matters.
Before becoming a physician, Dr. Juan spent a decade as an internationally touring musician — an experience that continues to shape how he approaches patient care.
He continues to write and perform music and has spent more than twenty years performing and recording with Otis Taylor. The discipline of performance and the necessity of attentive listening influence the way he practices medicine.
He also works with musicians and touring professionals seeking healthcare that adapts to life on the road.
A Physician–Patient Relationship Built for the Long Term
Dr. Juan lives in Longmont with his wife and children and practices with the intention of caring for individuals and families across decades.
His goal is simple: to provide the kind of thoughtful, comprehensive medical care he would want for his own family.
