Website Privacy Policy

1. Who we are and what this policy covers

This policy explains how Metronome MD PLLC, doing business as Metronome Family Medicine (“we,” “us”), handles information collected through this website, metronomemd.com.

It does not cover:

• Your medical records and care. Those are covered by our Notice of Privacy Practices.
• Outside services we link to, including our booking and patient portal (Hint), secure messaging (Spruce), health-tracking app (Guava Health), and supplement dispensary (Fullscript). When you use them, their own privacy policies apply.
• Other websites we link to, such as social media, podcasts, or articles.

2. Information you give us

Consultation form

If you request a consultation, we collect your first and last name, email address, and phone number so we can contact you. The form doesn't ask about your health, and we ask that you not include medical information.

Email, phone, and text

If you contact us directly, we receive whatever you choose to send, along with your email address or phone number. Regular email and text messages aren't fully secure, so please save health details for your visit or our secure patient tools.

3. Information collected automatically

Like most websites, this site collects some technical information when you visit. Here is exactly what runs on it:

Squarespace (website host)

This site is hosted by Squarespace. Squarespace records basic visit information, such as pages viewed, the site that referred you, browser and device type, and approximate location based on your IP address, and uses cookies to produce visitor statistics we can see only in summary form. Squarespace also collects technical performance and error data to keep the site running. See Squarespace's privacy policy.

Google reCAPTCHA (spam protection)

Our consultation form uses Google reCAPTCHA to block spam and bots. reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information, such as device and browser data, and sends it to Google. Its use is subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Google Fonts

The site's typefaces load from Google's servers, which receive your IP address and browser information so the fonts can display. Google states that Google Fonts doesn't set cookies.

Embedded YouTube videos

Our videos are embedded in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, which doesn't store YouTube cookies on your device unless you play a video. Once you press play, YouTube and Google's privacy policy apply to that viewing.

Reviews widget

Patient reviews are displayed using a widget provided by Elfsight, which loads from Elfsight's servers. Those servers receive standard technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, when the widget loads.

4. What this website does not do

• It does not use advertising or social media tracking pixels, such as the Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, or LinkedIn Insight Tag.
• It does not use Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager.
• It does not record your screen, mouse movements, or keystrokes (“session replay”).
• It does not sell your personal information or share it for cross-site targeted advertising.

If that ever changes, we will update this policy before the change takes effect.

5. How we use information

• To respond to your questions and schedule consultations.
• To keep the website working, secure, and free of spam.
• To understand, in summary form, how many people visit and which pages are useful.
• To comply with the law.

6. Who we share information with

We share website information only with the service providers described above (Squarespace, Google, and Elfsight) as needed to run the site, and when required by law, such as in response to a valid subpoena or court order. We do not sell or rent your information.

7. Cookie choices

When you first visit, a banner lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies, and you can change your choice at any time using the cookie preferences link on the site. Essential cookies that make the site function, such as security cookies, can't be turned off through the banner. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Do Not Track: Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. Because this site does not track you across other websites or serve targeted ads, there is no cross-site tracking for that signal to turn off; the site does not otherwise change its behavior in response to it.

8. How long we keep information

We keep consultation form submissions and messages only as long as we need them to respond to you and keep reasonable business records, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Squarespace's visitor statistics are kept according to Squarespace's own retention practices.

9. Your choices

You can ask us to tell you what information you've submitted through this website, to correct it, or to delete it, by contacting us using the details below. We'll respond within a reasonable time. Requests about your medical records are handled under our Notice of Privacy Practices.

10. Children

This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information online from them. Parents and guardians are welcome to contact us on a child's behalf.

11. Security

The site is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and we limit what we collect. No website or internet transmission is completely secure, which is one more reason we ask you not to send medical information through the site or regular email.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll add a “last updated” date at the top showing when it was most recently changed.
